It has been said: Small minds discuss
people. Average minds discuss things. Great minds discuss ideas. We search for
ideas to gain some understanding about ourselves and the world around us. We
inquire and question to find the insights that help us develop our value system,
but we find confusion and contradiction. We observe seemingly successful people
but are dismayed by the chaos and muddle that often mars their lives.
The irony is that the hallmark of clear thinking is
simplicity. But instead of simplicity we have tangled complexity.
Just as a small light on top of a mountain guides a pilot
and reassures him that he is on course, these essays provide a small beacon of
understanding on varied topics. They are refreshing in their understatement,
delightful in their charm, inspiring in their message.
While they range from the whimsical to the serious, they
all have the same common denominator: they are easy to read, thought provoking,
educational and inspiring. They are contemporary and ideally suited to serve as
a catalyst for engaging and productive family discussion.
In this uplifting and insightful book, Mr. Avi Shulman
concentrates these points of light to help us combat the encroaching shadows,
and to illuminate our hearts, minds and souls.
Light up your life and yourself with Candlelight.
